Anti-Microbial

At times there is a need to use antibiotics in conjunction with periodontal treatment. Antibiotics may be prescribed, so that the medicine is taken for a period of time (i.e. days or months).  Sometimes it is necessary to deliver a high dose antibiotic to a single site (pocket), this is usually done at a scaling and root planning appointment by the dental hygienist.
